GMO labeling hits Congress
Our right to know what we're eating hit the halls of Congress yesterday with full force.
Executives from some of our nation’s major brands -- including Stonyfield, Patagonia, Ben & Jerry's, and Chipotle -- stood in front of the US Capitol to pressure Congress to stop the "DARK Act" and demand lawmakers pass commonsense GMO labeling legislation.
While Monsanto and major junk food manufacturers are lobbying Congress to keep us in the dark on GMOs, innovative and smart food leaders are stepping up to call for commonsense GMO labeling legislation.
On the heels of our huge event yesterday, we now need your help to keep up the momentum on lawmakers to reject the DARK Act before it’s too late.
Click here to sign our petition demanding Congress reject any attempts to block GMO labeling and stop the DARK Act in its tracks.
Our GMO labeling coalition also released the results of a recent national survey that found an overwhelming supermajority of Americans -- 88% in fact -- believe GMO foods should be labeled.
What’s more, the results showed that GMO labeling crosses party lines. Democrats, Republicans, and independents all agree that labeling genetically modified foods is important to them.
Now it’s time to convince members of Congress that a vast majority of their constituents want GMO labeling legislation. Click the link below to sign our petition:

Help decide what's next for FPA
This
year presents unique challenges and opportunities for the food movement
as we confront the new Congress and push ahead on important issues
related to the food we eat and produce.
Your
advocacy on a host of issues has played a key role in holding our
leaders accountable for their votes on food. Now, we want to hear what
you think our priorities should be in 2015.
Without our grassroots supporters, FPA couldn’t have made the kind of incredible progress we saw last year.
By
making our voices heard, we can change how our leaders vote on issues
like GMO labeling, antibiotics in food, and local farming.
What
would you like to see accomplished in 2015? What do you think FPA’s
priorities should be? We’re listening to your ideas—take a moment to
share them right now.
Thanks for being a part of this.

It's time to #votefood
When it comes to their votes on food, our elected officials run the gamut between good food champions and food policy failures. Shouldn’t those key differences have an impact on how we cast our ballots Tuesday?
To hold our leaders in Congress accountable for their votes on food, we have to get the word out to friends and family that these issues affect all of us every day.
Key races are heating up all across the country, and your votes
in this election will make a difference. To make real progress on
issues like reducing the overuse of antibiotics on farms, labeling GMOs
and tackling the the hunger crisis in our country, it’s important to
take those issues into the voting booth.
Thanks so much for everything you do.
